A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH share their official music video for the song 'Fell In My Hole'. The track is taken from their new album When The World becomes Undone which was released earlier this year via Long Branch Records / SPV. The video was shot by Joel Nilsson (Maluha Media) and Tony Jelencovich in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Singer and guitarist Sal Abruscato about the video: "We did not want to do the typical performance video of a band onstage. We wanted to give more to the story of manic depression. When we had the opportunity to work with Joel and Tony and film in Gothenburg, Sweden, we felt that is was gonna be special, something that will draw the viewer into that world."

Beauty often blossoms at the root of darkness. A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH siphon strangely blissful melodies from apocalyptic heavy metal awash in swells of cavernous gothic keys and grunge song-craft. The band continue to excavate vulnerability from venom on their anxiously awaited third full-length album, When The World Becomes Undone. A delicate dichotomy drives the avowed and acclaimed “Brooklyn Lords of Doom.”

“It’s our signature combination of seemingly depressing and dark musical tones with unexpectedly pretty melodies,” affirms Sal Abruscato. “There’s a hypnotic phenomenon that happens when you take super heavy riffs and add a harmonic sensibility. It allows you to drift off and zone out.”

The new album was mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, Meat Loaf, Yes, Sepultura, Halford) at Maor Appelbaum Mastering while the artwork was once again created by Sam Shearon (Rob Zombie, Fear Factory, Cradle of Filth).

TIDES FROM NEBULA announce new album via Long Branch Records

shot.jpg

After a three year break, TIDES FROM NEBULA, one of the most respected European instrumental bands, will return with their much anticipated fifth studio album From Voodoo to Zen. It will be their first album as a trio and is scheduled to be released on 20th September 2019 via Long Branch Records (SPV) and Mystic Production.

"It seems that being a three piece made us work harder and challenged us to write better music. I’m pretty sure this is one of the reasons the album ended up sounding so rich and epic," states guitarist Maciej Karbowski. "Musically and visually this new record is a sidestep for us, which came subconsciously. We just followed our gut feeling and as we were recording in our own recording studio, we could work on every small detail and I am sure that this album will develop with every listen. We are super curious about the listener's reaction."

Electronic/math/post-rock duo AIMING FOR ENRIKE release new single

Electronic/math/post-rock duo AIMING FOR ENRIKE release new single

Anne Valeur.PNG

Maverick electro/math/post-rock duo AIMING FOR ENRIKE have unveiled their new single and video for 'Don't Hassle The Hoff', released June 14th via Pekula Records.

The video, premiered via Echoes & Dust, is available to watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8OgmZTtuXk

Purchase/stream: https://orcd.co/donthasslethehoff

It’s safe to say that AIMING FOR ENRIKE’s fame is mostly thanks to their frenetic, wild and engaging live shows – having toured extensively in USA, India, Japan, Czech Republic, Norway, England and Germany for several years.

The duo are known for experimenting with noisy musical transformations and frenetic sonic attacks, but increasingly are shifting their focus towards the club and dancefloor. The result - more futuristic, funky and increasingly communal music.

Imagine a combination of Talking Heads, Jon Hopkins, Three Trapped Tigers, The Algorithm and you'll come close to the sounds created by AIMING FOR ENRIKE.

Energy and explosiveness have always been key musical factors for AIMING FOR ENRIKE, and there’s no doubt that the band live entirely live in their own universe, where everything revolves around insane instrumental chemistry and sparks flying between drummer Simen Følstad Nilsen and Tobias Ørnes Andersen.

The duo are on the road nonstop this year - watch them at one of the following shows:

29.6.19 - Salzburg Dawn Summerfest, Austria
19.7.19 - Leeuwarden Welcome To The Village Festival, Netherlands
27.7.19 - Hogival, Ostfold, Norway
17.8.19 - ArcTanGent, Bristol, UK

Watch the video to current single 'Hollow Heart' here: https://youtu.be/72pXQoLXapE

Render is available for pre-order here: https://ValisAblaze.lnk.to/Render

VALIS ABLAZE set out to provide an intriguing alternative to the progressive metal norm with prominent swells of creative ingenuity, thought out details and subtle complexities that will keep the listener returning again and again.

After the success of the 2017 Insularity EP produced by Drewsif Stalin, VALIS ABLAZE presented an even more refined sound with their debut album Boundless, produced by Justin Hill (Sikth, Heart of a Coward, Bury Tomorrow): low end grooves juxtaposed with soaring vocal lines, crisp milton-cleans and atmospheric synths, all driven by intricate rhythm work and growling bass - a huge spectrum of energy, emotion, power and beauty.

Two years of playing the EP and the album on the road around Europe with bands such as Monuments, The Contortionist, Dead Letter Circus and Vola has only further inspired the band. They have since worked hard on their follow up to Spring 2018's Boundless, with their Sophomore album, Render.

Render, mixed and mastered by James Wisner (Paramore, Underoath, Hands Like Houses), seeks to push past the obstacles that listeners may find with a concept album and aims to find a favourite song for everyone.

Mysterious new rock band THE NEW DEATH CULT stream third single

'True Eyes' out now via Indie Recordings

The New Death Cult 2019 Resize .jpg

New masked hard rock act THE NEW DEATH CULT have released their third single 'True Eyes', out now via Indie Recordings.

Premiered via Distorted Sound, watch the new video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzdqr7ivCT8

Stream/purchase: https://newdeathcult.lnk.to/Eyes

A new force in rock, the masked group present themselves as otherworldly, a group arriving with fresh music and important messages for humanity. The four members ALPHA (vocals, guitar), BETA (lead guitar), GAMMA (bass), and DELTA (drums) combine with music centred around true love, peaceful activism, and an anti-war and anti-destruction ethos.

As bandleader ALPHA comments, the new single 'True Eyes' is:

"about intuition and our connection to the realm of the unconscious universe. It describes an awakening to the realization that our primary vision resides within our soul essence-and while our physical eyes will wither and die-this navigational sight in the realm of the metaphysical will always be clear, true and immortal.

This very realization also has some super heavy implications on how we perceive other human beings and life itself: imagining whole universe compressed together at the size of a droplet before the Big Bang, it means that you and I - by metaphysical and physical matter - were present in that first little primordial cosmic droplet.

Although we live in a world that is constantly trying to defy this truth through fear-fuelled propaganda and religious bigotry, this deep connection to each other and to the universe itself is therefore eternal and inherently unbiased."

A crossover between the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, and Pink Floyd, the group drive heavy rock in a new direction whilst giving a nod toward the greatest 90s rock acts. Desert rock collides with a tinge of psychedelia and cosmic grandeur, creating a scintillating new sound.

'True Eyes' follows THE NEW DEATH CULT's previous singles 'Light Spills Over' and 'Zeitgeist', which collectively have garnered over 150,000 streams currently, official Spotify and Deezer playlist support, and support from Dan P Carter's BBC R1 Rock Show.

Watch the band live:

Summer Breeze Open Air, 14-17 August, Germany

GENDER ROLES release new single, unveil debut album details and announce headline tour

GENDER ROLES release new single, unveil debut album details and announce headline tour

Brighton indie punks GENDER ROLES have released new single ‘You Look Like Death’, the first track taken from their debut album, PRANG, set for release on 30th August via Big Scary Monsters.

Packed with infectious hooks, uplifting melodies and a hint of the trio’s quirky sense of humour, ‘You Look Like Death’ serves as a great introduction to PRANG.

The band comment on the song: “'You Look Like Death' is the story of leaving home told through everyone else's words. It's anxiousness we feel, thinking we have let loved ones down and what they might say if they could see us now. This song is the interpretation of how it must feel on the other side, to watch someone grow up, fly the nest, make bad decisions and find their way in this crazy world. It's thinking of the first day you can remember on the day you leave.”

Directed by Ben Pollard, the accompanying video is a clever interpretation of the song's theme. The band explain: “The video is centred around a character that is stuck in their own head - they've shut themselves away for too long and are now petrified of the world outside. You could say they look like death (smug face). FEAR NOT FRIEND! GR are here to wake you the fuck up, give you a lil pep talk and send you into the world to GET IT.”

GENDER ROLES have also announced their 'PRANG' UK headline tour, check them out on the following dates:

02/10 - Norwich, Open
03/10 – London, Boston Music Room
04/10 – Southampton, Heartbreakers
05/10 – Bristol, Rough Trade
06/10 – Nottingham, Rough Trade
07/10 – Glasgow, Attic
08/10 – Sheffield, Record Junkee
09/10 – Liverpool, Kazimier
10/10 – Cardiff, Clwb Ifor Bach
11/10 – Portsmouth, The Wave Maiden
14/10 - Guildford, Boileroom

Purchase tickets here: http://genderrolesuk.com

The band are also confirmed for the following dates this summer:

21/06 - London, Old Blue Last
22/06 - Oxford, Summer in the City
23/06 - Middlesbrough, Heelapalooza
30/06 - Wintergrun Fest, Germany
19/07 – Cardiff, The Big Top
20/07 – Birmingham, Flapper Fest
17/08 - ArcTangent Festival

Forming after a chance initial meeting at drummer Jordan Lilford’s Brighton Pride party in 2015, GENDER ROLES, also consisting of guitarist/vocalist Tom Bennett and bassist Jared Tomkins, found that Brighton’s DIY scene was the ideal hub to cut their teeth and allow themselves to grow as a band. The inspiration and ethos they could draw on in those early days has been integral to the act they’ve become.

While the coastal city remains the band’s home, it cannot be said to have contained them. Gigging throughout Europe and the States, packing out tents at festivals such as 2000 Trees, and sharing the stage with heroes from Jamie Lenman to Touche Amore and Pup, GENDER ROLES have built on those early foundations to amass a growing fanbase, drawn to their melodic grunge/punk and dry, candid sense of humour.

Documenting that growth have been the band’s two EPs released so far, 2017’s Planet X-Ray and 2018’s Lazer Rush. While the theme for those EPs was “overcoming the past and looking forward to the future together”, the new, debut album, PRANG, focuses on much more immediate issues, even if it did come from a particularly happy place for GENDER ROLES.

“There was never really a concept discussed until we really started stockpiling a lot of new material. It's really hard to try and express any other thought other than 'everything is great' when everything is actually going great. We were in such a good place as a new band throughout 2017 and 2018 and you can't just sing about being stoked all the time, because it's boring. One of the first songs we wrote for the album, “Always”, is about losing someone very close and it sort of occurred that it's difficult, no matter when it happens in your life. Most problems we face in life are at home, either growing up, raising a family, trying to become one, being alone, whatever it is. The idea grew from there and became the theme of the whole album”.
