Southampton alt-rock three piece BROKEN LINKS release new video ‘We’re All Paranoid’ online and give single away for FREE!
Friday 31st August, 2012
Playing industrial rock with under-currents of post-punk and new wave, BROKEN LINKS are as melodic and hook laden as they are dark and haunting. Atmospheric guitars, melancholic vocals and electronic soundscapes form a musical vehicle for psychoanalytical and emotionally complex lyrical themes, resulting in a dark and powerful aural experience.
The new single “We’re All Paranoid” is taken from their upcoming album “Disasters: Ways To Leave a Scene”, set for release this Autumn via Devil Theory Records, and is available to download for FREE from the band’s bandcamp. The band have also released the cinematic accompanying video online, which tells the story of a dying man watching his life flash before him in the aftermath of a car smash-up.
Originally taking influence from an array of acts ranging from Joy Division, Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails to Manic Street Preachers and Bush, BROKEN LINKS have evolved a sound that’s very unique to themselves and unlike anyone on the scene today. Mark Lawrence (vocals / guitar), Lewis Betteridge (bass) and Phil Boulter (drums), have been slowly but surely building a strong loyal fanbase on their own steam following the release of three self release EPs, and playing shows with the likes of British Sea Power, The Boxer Rebellion, InMe, My Vitriol, and The Xcerts in the UK, Germany, and Italy.

UAE metal band ANURYZM release guitar tutorial video for Wide Awake
Tuesday 21st August, 2012
At the forefront of the Middle Eastern metal scene are Dubai based metallers ANURYZM, who have recently released a guitar tutorial video for their track 'Wide Awake', taken from the debut album, 'Worm's Eye View'.
Comments guitarist John Bakhos: "As a band we place the focus of our songwriting on strong guitar-led tracks. Our influences include guitar legends such as Dimebag Darrell, Slash, Rudolf Schenker, Jimi Hendrix, Marty Friedman, John Petrucci, Alex Lifeson, Brian May and Mark Tremonti. These are musicians that have revolutionised the way that the guitar is played and have used their skills to create music that withstands the test of time. As a band, we try to create music with this mindset."
ANURYZM's debut album 'Worm's Eye View' was released by Melodic Revolution Records on July 17th and over the course of 8 tracks, is a heart-stirring journey that seamlessly blends metal, progressive, and jazz leanings into an ever-changing musical illustration. Featuring guest appearances from Martin Lopez (Soen, Opeth, Amon Amarth), jazz bassist Rami Lakkis and synth player Uri Dijk (Textures, Ethereal), the album was produced by John Bakhos & Miltiadis Kyvernitis at MNK studios and mixed, mastered by Miltiadis Kyvernitis. Drums were recorded by Martin Lopez in Sweden.
The band also recently released a promotional video for their track, 'Breaking the Ballot' which can be viewed below.
Worm's Eye View is out now and is available via Melodic Revolution Records or from all good online retailers.
"Throughout “Worms Eye View,” song structures are seamlessly interlinked, time changes and moods negotiated effortlessly, Porcupine Tree and, especially Opeth influences apparent." - Mudkiss, Album of the Month
"Worms Eye View is a brilliant album. Anuryzm sits alongside Sons of Asena in the 'deserve to be massive' genre, and if they can recreate this quality of music at their live shows there is no justifiable reason that they won't become a formidable force in metal." - Metal As Fuck
"Anuryzm proves itself to be in full control of balancing musical prowess and songwriting, forging it all into a listening experience that should appeal to a large crowd." - Metality UAE

Aliases announce the departure of vocalist Jay Berast
Thursday 9th August, 2012
UK metallers ALIASES have announced that due to personal commitments, vocalist Jay Berast is to leave the band.
Comments guitarist Pin: "After 2 awesome years we have to announce the departure of our vocalist and friend, Jay Berast, from Aliases.
There's no bad blood whatsoever and he's made the decision to leave, to ensure the band is not hindered by his growing work and personal commitments.
We are working relentlessly on our first full length album which is coming along amazingly and as such Jay decided to leave now to allow a new vocalist to come in and immediately get involved with the songwriting .... we certainly don't want to be presenting his successor with an album of finished music to just slap vocals on. This is a real band which benefits from the contribution of all members.
Jay has been like a brother to us however we are fully committed to putting everything into the band and therefore every member has to be in the same mindset. Ultimately this will allow us to write better music, perform better shows and simply propel Aliases where we want it to go."
Jay adds: "I am sad to announce that I am leaving Aliases. The past two years have been more than amazing, travelling Europe, meeting such great people and making music with such talented friends. My life has changed and with it, my priorities, which means I can no longer be fully committed to the band, so it's time to step aside to let someone else take Aliases forward for the next stage of the journey.
I have been incredibly lucky to share some great times with these crazy (but lovely) dudes and dudette. I really want to thanks you guys for always following, spreading the word and supporting the band by your messages (and pokes...too much pokes !!!). Thanks also to the Basick Records and Hold Tight PR team, and the many great bands I shared a stage and after show with. Get ready for the new Aliases, the album will kick your ass properly."
Catch Jay's final gig with Aliases in London on September 8th at the Metal Hammer sponsored Basick Records vs Siege of Amida Records All Dayer - for more info - check here
