BEING AS AN OCEAN are giving fans a deeper look into their upcoming album, Proxy: An A.N.I.M.O. Story, with their second single ‘Find Our Way’. Proxy will be available on all platforms on 13th September 2019.

“We have all encountered monsters in life and will all endure pain. I believe there is great comfort and healing to be had in the comprehension of this truth. That even with life’s suffering, there is almost unlimited potential for happiness and gratitude. We have time given to us, we are alive and breathing, we feel deeply, we can sense, we can experience joy and elation. I count these things as blessings.

"The point of carrying on in this world is the living out of joy and purpose (essential elements in a person’s life) for one’s self and the cultivation of them in our communities. I believe that community, another essential element in life, is something that we are all built for and deserving of. We have always held each other so close as friends in this band and understand the importance of leaning into the support of loved ones. This song is a reminder to keep the faith and trust the goodness and strength of those you keep close. The music community became the biggest joy in my life and informed my purpose, so if this song uplifts at least one music-lover, then it’s done its job.” - Joel Quartuccio

‘Find Our Way’ follows the recent release of lead single ‘Play Pretend’, and its cinematic sci-fi companion video/short film, which was directed by BRUME. Hailed by Alternative Press for being “so massive it might just give you whiplash”, the clip can be seen HERE. Loudwire described the video as “sci-fi fueled Armageddon meets the hallucinatory side effects of mushroom tea, aided by airy post-rock elements, futuristic-sounding multi-tracked vocals and electronic-styled drum beats.”

‘Find Our Way’ and ‘Play Pretend’ are both available as instant-grats by pre-ordering Proxy: An A.N.I.M.O.Story here: https://backl.ink/PROXY

Grammy-nominated producer and collaborator Zakk Cervini (Blink-182, Poppy, Halsey) helped the band to build songs from the ground up in the studio (He worked with them on 2018’s “Alone,” which emerged in just 12 hours). This new process carried forward into the making of Proxy: An A.N.I.M.O.Story. Each song sprang from the collective. Nothing was considered “finished” until everyone shared enthusiasm and satisfaction in the results.

In an interview with Alternative Press, Joel Quartuccio talked about raising the bar: “We always keep pushing ourselves,” he says. “It’s important to each and every single one of us to be better and keep incorporating new things that we love that we want to see in all of the art we put out. The very first music video we ever shot was done by Tyler in my living room in my small apartment in San Diego. We want to keep growing in every aspect.”

After arriving on the scene in 2014 with 'How We Both Wondrously Perish', BEING AS AN OCEAN’s unique blend of post-hardcore punch and ambient tones has helped them rack up a staggering 85 million streams globally while playing to a rapidly growing community of diehards around the world.

Proxy: An A.N.I.M.O. Story stands as a monumental, year-long labour of love, sculpted and breathed into reality. Its inaugural single's music video lifts the veil on a vast creative world from which the band has pulled its inspiration and artistic guidance, exposing a narrative, not unlike our own; an existence experienced through the human lens of empathy, suffering, loss, longing, regret, reconciliation, sacrifice, joy, and love.

US metal act SILVERTOMB have signed an international record deal with independent German label Long Branch Records/SPV.

Formed in the wake of Type O Negative and Seventh Void, SILVERTOMB is the latest musical endeavor of Kenny Hickey (Type O Negative, Seventh Void), Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative, Danzig) and Hank Hell (Seventh Void, Inhuman). This time teaming up with New York hardcore veteran Joseph James (Agnostic Front, Inhuman) and Aaron Joos (Awaken The Shadow, Empyreon), the band combine the sounds of Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath to create a bone crushing, mind-blowing sonic journey into the underbelly of human emotion.

"We’re happy to announce that SILVERTOMB has signed with SPV/Long Branch Records. Looking forward to a successful partnership!" says Kenny Hickey.

Long Branch Records label manager Manuel Schönfeld adds: "SILVERTOMB is another great addition to our growing roster. We're super excited to be working with Kenny and the band on the release of their debut album."

SILVERTOMB's new single 'Love You Without No Lies' will be released on 23rd August 2019.

UK rock duo MYOK release new single 'Kiss'

27048971_10155367279148691_2000909340_o.jpg

Today (14th August 2019) UK rock duo MYOK release their single 'Kiss', the third taken from their Dagger EP. The final track on the EP, which was released in May 2019, 'Kiss' showcases the band's diverse songwriting abilities, slowing down the pace and taking an anthemic route away from their often frenetic sound.

Check out the video for 'Kiss' here: https://youtu.be/NcCEJefYMhY

Stream/purchase 'Kiss' here: https://awal.ffm.to/kiss

MYOK comment on the meaning behind the song:

"The concept for 'Kiss' came from a friend who can get absolutely messed up and go to bed at 3-4am and be up at 6am bright as a button. We're like, how can you do that?! He answered: "dear boy, sleep is the sister of death." So 'Kiss' is about taking our daily mini death."

Citing influence from a wide range of bands including Jimmy Eat World, Biffy Clyro, Led Zeppelin, Muse and Black Peaks, the rising two-piece are shaping their own brand of alt-rock, with BBC Radio 1 presenter Daniel P. Carter describing them as "like Biffy at their proggy best" in his Kerrang! Magazine column.

2019 has been a busy year for MYOK, who have been honing their thunderous live set and independently writing, producing and recording their Dagger EP, which has turned the heads of Daniel P. Carter, BBC Introducing and more.

In their short career MYOK have also supported Mallory Knox, The Struts, Press To MECO and Allusinlove, and appeared at Y Not Festival, Camden Rocks and Bearded Theory Festival.

See MYOK live at one of the following dates:

29.08.2019 - Derby, The Venue
07.09.2018 - Nottingham, Macmillan Fest

HACKTIVIST release video for new single 'Dogs Of War'

HACKTIVIST release video for new single 'Dogs Of War'

Hacktivist 2019 Resize.jpg

UK grime-metal quintet HACKTIVIST have revealed the video for their brand new single 'Dogs Of War'. The track, out now via UNFD, follows the band's previous single 'Reprogram' which marked their momentous return earlier this year.

Check out the video for 'Dogs Of War' here: https://youtu.be/YWzwEPYIjYM

Stream/purchase 'Dogs Of War' here: https://unfd.lnk.to/DogsOfWar

Not afraid to speak out about world issues, 'Dogs Of War' explores the normalisation of warfare and how it affects us in more ways than we may realise.

"This theme is very important to us especially as we are in an age of seemingly perpetual warfare," the band comment. "Everyone is affected by these continuous wars in some way, even on subtle levels through taxes, fuel prices and economics.

"We wanted to address the fact that war has now become a normalised part of everyday life and how it's increasingly clear that it's being conducted in the name of control and profit. The other factor is that, as much as we're all dogs of war being dragged into one international campaign after another, it's the armed forces on all sides who are being used and exploited to an even higher degree."

'Dogs Of War' was also inspired by anti-war material that co-vocalist J Hurley had been researching during the writing and recording of the song, which included a series of talks by Mark Passioand George Orwell's themes of "double think" and "news speak".

"The concepts all joined together very easily and we hope it's going to start changing the way that this 'War on Terror' is seen by people," he adds. "It's been non-stop since 2001, the war is older than some of the soldiers involved in it! Why does everything keep going on like business as usual while our governments are moving from conflict to new conflict, with seemingly no end? The romanticised view of going solemnly to fight a war in the name of duty and freedom is far from the reality of what is going on here."

A band that have played on Reading & Leeds and Download Festival main stages and toured alongside Korn and Enter Shikari, HACKTIVIST are fired up with a reignited passion as they prepare to record their new album - ready to show the world what they are truly made of.

The quintet recently supported Gojira in Amsterdam and appeared at Submit Fest and Taman Festival, and have additional European live dates set for later this year - more details to be announced soon.

In a world where nobody knows the entire truth about why we’re here, who built the pyramids and what they were for, why we have such a destructive nature towards our planet and ourselves…A world where the only thing we know for sure is that we are living in a well-constructed downward spiral and the technologies that were supposed to make things better are of course making us worse. In a world where any attempt to find the truth or talk about these systematic anomalies got labelled as a “conspiracy theory” – finally the conspiracies are stepping out of the darkness and theories are being proven daily. As Science Fiction is becoming more and more factual and it’s getting very clear that we are on the brink of a revolution of sorts, HACKTIVIST are here to paint a silver lining around our clouded society. With not only a musical revolution of their own, continually blending genres in a way like no others, H also represents a voice that isn’t afraid of saying what needs to be said. They are already living in the future, you have the choice to either be shaped by it or to stand up with them and help shape it together. They're HACKTIVIST, they’re H, are you?

UNEVEN STRUCTURE release new single 'Innocent' and album details

UNEVEN STRUCTURE release new single 'Innocent' and album details

Promo.jpg

French progressive metal frontrunners UNEVEN STRUCTURE have announced their new album Paragon, along with a visually stunning music video for their first single 'Innocent'. The new full-length and successor of 2017's La Partition is set to be released on 18th October 2019 as exclusive bundles, limited double vinyl, CD Digipack and digital via Long Branch Records.

Check out the video for ‘Innocent’ here: https://youtu.be/YOnhAmfZUTI

Paragon is available for pre-order here: https://UnevenStructure.lnk.to/Paragon

Paragon crystallises an age of newfound maturity for UNEVEN STRUCTURE, a vision clearer than ever, showcasing a need to expose their genuine inner self. With rock solid foundations and a strongly curated team of devoted partners surrounding them, UNEVEN STRUCTURE's forthcoming opus is set to break boundaries and overcome any obstacles that might be thrown along the way, to bring this music to anyone that needs it in their lives.

Catch the band live in the UK this summer at Radar Festival, tickets available here.

Hailing from France, one of the biggest emerging markets and breeding stock for bands within the Metal and Progressive Rock scene, UNEVEN STRUCTURE formed in May 2008 from the willing of Benoit Friedrich and Igor Omodei to finally bring the technically enhanced and progressive music they had been working on for themselves, alive. The sound they were aiming to create was a one of a kind merger of groovy polyrhythmic guitar riffs with huge slick of ambient guitar leads, which with no doubt they accomplished.

In December 2009 they released their first EP with the help from singer Daniel Ädel (Vildhjarta). The EP has obtained great feedback through thousands of downloads through the span of a few days, already allowing the band’s name to spread on the internet in January 2010. Later that year, vocalist Matthieu Romarin joined the band, enriching their sound with his unique, both clean and heavy singing.

The band made their first live performances in Europe in 2010 and released the first album Februus in October 2011 via Basick Records, the British label leading the avant-garde and experimental metal market. After releasing Februus, acclaimed by press and audience unanimously, saluting the creativity and technicality, the band made multiple tours and festival appearances through Europe and Russia with Tech Metal and Prog Rock pioneers such as Protest The Hero, Textures, Animals as Leaders and Tesseract. In 2013 the French metallers released a re-recorded version of their debut EP 8, as a gift to their early fans for being supportive and believing in the project. From then the band continued to tour in multiple countries all across Europe from Portugal to Russia. Accounting more than 100 shows since the release of their first album and some highlight gigs performing at Brutal Assault, Euroblast Festival and a full European tour with Protest The Hero.

From 2013 onward,UNEVEN STRUCTURE worked on the follower ofFebruus. This next step, a full concept album called La Partition, released on April 21st 2017 under the guidance of their new label, Long Branch Records. WithinLa Partitionyou can hear and feel the progress the band made sinceFebruus, their sound now being even more complex and perfectly arranged, catchy and experimental. A perfect combination of the hardness of metal with the elaborate techniques of prog and the atmospheric sounds of ambient.

Following this new chapter, UNEVEN STRUCTURE came back touring Europe, playing over 70 shows in 2017 supporting Textures, Twelve Foot Ninja, as a headliner and making several festival appearances such as Resurrection Festival. But instead of pushing the heavy touring schedule any further, they decided to use such a dense amount of learnt lessons and gained wisdom to clear the table, getting right back into the studio to write their newest album, soberly named Paragon, scheduled to be introduced to the world on 18th October 2019, under Long Branch Records. This album crystallises an age of newfound maturity, a vision  clearer than ever, and the need for Uneven Structure to expose its genuine inner self. With rock solid foundations and an iron handedly curated team of devoted partners surrounding the entity, this upcoming opus is set to break the boundaries and overcome any obstacles that might be thrown on the way, only to be brought to everyone that needs this music in their lives.

From a very early age, most of us are molded by the traditions of our upbringing. While there are undeniable benefits to tradition, often the fear of bucking against the expectations they create prevent us from pursuing our personal truth. Growing up in the deep south, the members of GIDEON spent years letting these mental fences dictate their creative direction. On their aptly titled fifth full-length album, Out of Control, the band is no longer allowing themselves to be put in a box, sonically or topically, to fit what is expected of them. Enhanced by its eclectic array of musical influences, including a heavy dose of 90s and 00s nu metal, clear inflections of outlaw country, and hip hop, Out of Control is a powerful statement of who the members of GIDEON really are and where they come from.

The members of GIDEON - Daniel McWhorter (Vocals), Tyler Riley (Guitar), Jake Smelley (Drums) and Caleb DeRusha (Bass) - have encountered a myriad of cultures while touring the world in support of their music. These opportunities led to the realisation that open-mindedness and acceptance are important aspects of developing your own perspective. As a result, they’ve grown away from their roots as a 'Christian Metalcore' band and through their last three records this transition becomes apparent. On 2014’s Calloused the band offered glimpses into their internal struggle with being a 'Christian' band. By the release of Cold in 2017, they emerged more bitter and aggressive; defiant in the face of expectations. Finally, Out of Control finds the band breaking free of all previous restraints as they craft a diverse record unlike anything they’ve ever released.

JUNIOR reveal wrestler cameo video for new single 'P.Y.D' (ft. ELIJAH)

JUNIOR reveal wrestler cameo video for new single 'P.Y.D' (ft. ELIJAH)

7.jpg

Welsh rock band JUNIOR have revealed the video for their new single 'P.Y.D', which features guest vocals from Indy pro wrestler ELIJAH. The track is taken from the trio's debut full-length, Beautiful Life, which is set for release on 2nd August.

Continuing the wrestling theme, the video features cameos from wrestlers Adam Cole (WWE NXT), Ali (WWE), Drake Maverick (WWE), Drake Younger (WWE), Jimmy Havoc (All Elite Wrestling), Kassius Ohno (WWE NXT), Marty Scurll (Ring Of Honour), Rhea Ripley (WWE NXT), Rickey Shane Page (CZW King of the Deathmatch), Ruby Riot (WWE), TJ Perkins(WWE/TNA/ROH) and Will Ospreay (New Japan Pro Wrestling).

Check it out here: https://youtu.be/nzcBtJkZH9M

“I’ve said for a while that Independent wrestling is the new punk rock," comments JUNIORvocalist/bassist and WWE wrestler Mark Andrews. "Our new single 'P.Y.D' is about the punk rock, DIY mentality of people in the independent pro wrestling scene. The song and video is a homage to some of the top wrestlers in the world today who came from a scene that celebrated pro wrestling regardless of the gritty, low budget environments it started in. There’s a lot of love and passion in the community centres and bingo halls across the world that showcase their shows, and it's moulded all of the stars who cameo in this video. It also features Indy pro wrestler ELIJAHwho sings some pretty gnarly vocals in the bridge!”

JUNIOR will tour the UK in support of the album next month, dates are as follows:

August
2nd - Cardiff Clwb Ifor Bach
4th - Birmingham Sunflower Lounge
5th - Glasgow Hug & Pint
6th - Manchester Star & Garter
7th - London Club 229
8th - Cheltenham Frog and Fiddle
9th - Sheffield Record Junkee

Pre-order Beautiful Life here: www.musicofjunior.com

The theme of positivity and self-expression underpin JUNIOR's first album and are key to the band's own identity. Beyond this, the band's drummer Si Martin is known for running mental health non-profit Heads Above The Waves, which raises awareness of depression and self-harm in young people.

In addition to Si, JUNIOR's vocalist/bassist is well-known WWE wrestler Mark Andrews who performs weekly on NXT, 205 Live and NXT UK to an audience of millions. Guitarist and co-vocalist Matt Attard writes theme tunes for wrestlers, balancing his time against JUNIOR's increasingly busy schedule.

The band's vital message does not detract from the fact that JUNIOR are, above all else, a fun band. The highly versatile and impressively mature debut brings to mind elements of Blink-182, Biffy Clyro, and Jimmy Eat World, breaking beyond anthemic pop-punk tropes to create a highly irresistible first offering to all fans of modern rock.

In their short history, JUNIOR have already played Download Festival, toured Canada, headlined London's The Dome and received significant support from Rock Sound, Kerrang!, Alt Press and many more.
