New rock duo CHAPTER NINETEEN launch with 'Stephen', their Stephen King-inspired single and video.

Premiered via DreadCentral, you can now watch 'Stephen' here:

Apple Music:
iHeart Radio:

Released to celebrate the legendary horror author's birthday, 'Stephen' is as much a visual experience as auditory - with 62 Stephen King references in total within. Not only that, the song’s mid-section also features a unique whispering choir of extras – various Stephen King fans on Instagram answering the band's call and contributed recordings of them whispering their favourite line by the author. The result is suitably spooky.

Dave Musson, CHAPTER NINETEEN's singer/guitarist/bassist, said: "As you can probably tell from the fact the band is called CHAPTER NINETEEN and our first single is about Stephen King, I'm a massive fan of the master of horror. I've had the idea for this video for a long time - I knew I wanted to create something that referenced as many of King's works as possible. So, I went through his entire bibliography and came up with something for everything he's written, before trying to distill that into something that would still work as a cohesive visual story. And, as it turns out, I think we managed it. This is my visual love letter to my favourite author, and I really hope Constant Readers everywhere have fun trying to spot all of the references. Oh, and if they like the song too, that would be a bonus!"

Video director Rich Rees, from Twin Trees Creative, added: "We loved working on this project. It was quite a challenge pulling together so many references into one piece, but Dave’s vision was really strong so we made it happen. It was great to have a film where practically every single frame has meaning attached to it. We enjoyed learning more about the world of King’s works too - we’re obviously familiar with a lot of the film adaptations of his works, but jumping into the world of the original written works was quite the treat!"

'Stephen' is CHAPTER NINETEEN's first ever release. The band are former members of Kyoto Drive and WAVE, and take influence from Black Peaks, Nirvana, Every Time I Die and Palm Reader.

Norwegian blackened hardcore band SIBIIR have released new single 'For The Few', taken from upcoming album Ropes, out 4th October via Fysisk Format.

Premiered via Metal Injection, check it out here:

The band comment on 'For The Few': "As the wealth gap increases, the rich get richer and the number of people living in poverty grows. The capitalistic system is failing, and to make sure you'll agree we made this tune. Three minutes of straight forward head banging consent. Propaganda in its finest form."

Hailing from Oslo, Norway and inspired by coldest place on earth, Siberia, SIBIIR are a blackened-hardcore quintet who revel in darkness and misery to create their uniquely spine-chilling sound.

Summoning up the band’s collective influences of black, death, technical, thrash and hardcore, SIBIIR turned heads across with world with their self-titled debut, which Metal Hammer UK described as ‘an explosive, eclectic and exciting listen’.

CREEPING DEATH stream new song/video 'Ripping Through Flesh'

CREEPING DEATH stream new song/video 'Ripping Through Flesh'

photo PR 3.jpg

Texas-based death metal practitioners CREEPING DEATH have unveiled their harrowing new video 'Ripping Through Flesh.' The brutal hymn comes by way of the band's anticipated Wretched Illusions debut, set for worldwide release via Entertainment One (eOne) on 27th September.

Premiered via Kerrang!, check it out here:

Offers Kerrang! of the vicious clip, "One thing can be said about CREEPING DEATH: they're committed to their name... on the material from their upcoming new album Wretched Illusions, the band are exploring a moldier, more clammy-to-the-touch sound that oozes and lumbers as much as it rips... The video for the band's latest track, 'Ripping Through Flesh,' is a visual illustration of that fungal growth. The video definitely has a narrative of bloodlust and escape that runs throughout it, complete with a machete-wielding psychopath. But more than that, it's the cave that surrounds the band during the performance shots - complete with dripping rock formations and pitch-black crevices a every turn - that truly grips the viewer and drives home the band's newfound aural grossness."

Adds guitarist Trey Pemberton, "We knew we wanted 'Ripping Through Flesh' to be the lead track on the new album right after we finished writing it. We really liked how it hits hard from the jump and doesn't let up. Filming the video in those beautiful caves was a one of a kind experience; we had a lot of fun bringing Reese's lyrics to life."

CREEPING DEATH's Wretched Illusions is a confident missive of percussive bombast. At once fast, challenging, decisive, and devouring, the band draws liberally from the template set by influential death metal titans like Grave, Gorguts, and Blood Red Throne along with the speed of early Sepultura and the epic crush of Bolt Thrower. It's all re-fused together and reflected through their own fresh and unique prism, making the record one of the most scathingly heavy outputs of the year. Produced by Daniel Schmuck (Power Trip, Messengers, End Times) and mixed and mastered by Arthur Rizk (Ghostmane, Cavalera Conspiracy, Outer Heaven), Wretched Illusions will be released on CD, digital, and vinyl formats.

For preorders go to THIS LOCATION where the band's previously-released video for 'Bloodlust Contamination' can be viewed.

CREEPING DEATH recently wrapped up a short US tour supporting Inter Arma. Following a pair of one-off headlining shows as well as an appearance at Slaughter Que 2019 featuring Exodus, Kataklysm, Battlecross, and more later this month, the band will close out the year supporting High On Fire and Power Trip on a massive North American live takeover. The journey begins 7th November at Levitation Fest in Austin, Texas and will rampage its way through over two dozen cities upon its conclusion December 7th in Los Angeles, California. Additional support will be provided by Devil Master.

Plans for UK/European dates will be unveiled soon.

Abigail Williams Photo by Hannah Lund 4.jpg

Black sheep of the Black Metal scene. Outcasts and outsiders since the very beginning. Somehow, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS are still alive, still thriving, still creating, whilst so many of their critics and competitors have fallen by the wayside.

The band return with their boldest and most diverse offering to date: their fifth record, Walk Beyond the Dark, to be released 15th November via Blood Music.

Pre-order the record here:

ABIGAIL WILLIAMS have also shared the first new track and video from the record. First premiered via Metal Hammer here with an exclusive interview, listen and watch 'I Will Depart' here:

Equal parts introspection and extremity, Walk Beyond the Dark is a testament to the band’s journey across the years; all the miles they’ve travelled, all the trials endured, all the mud thrown at them, all to keep doing what they love, on their own terms and without compromise.

Throughout all of these storms and tribulations remains band leader and songwriter, vocalist, and mastermind Ken Sorceron. In so many ways, Sorceron himself is ABIGAIL WILLIAMS, its heart, mind, and spirit. Deftly wielding the forces of light and dark in skilled measure. Icy guitars and bleak atmospheres encircle. Rapturous bursts of string accompaniments penetrate the melancholic futility of shadow and despair. Powerful guitars shift between slithering rhythms, contemplative grooves, and all-out assaults.

Songs like visceral opener 'I Will Depart' and the torrential 'Into the Sleep' take aspects and elements from each of the band’s previous iterations – the gleaming metallic riff-work of In The Shadow of a Thousand Suns, the seething rage of In The Absence of Light, the grim grandeur of Becoming, the moody melodic menace of The Accuser – and weave them together into something that’s far more than the mere sum of its parts.

ABIGAIL WILLIAMS will be touring North America with Ensiferum, Kalmah and Aenimus. Dates TBA shortly.

Ahead of the release of their new album Le Grand Voyage via Kscope on Friday 20th September, French atmospheric rockers KLONE have revealed their new single 'Breach'.

Check out the video for 'Breach' here:

'Breach’ explores a new trajectory and perpetuates the sense of scope initiated by 'Yonder'," comments vocalist Yann Ligner."KLONE continues the journey between tranquility and striking melodies. In a more ethereal atmosphere, ‘Breach’ talks about a call to resistance, a way of writing your own history no matter what happens. The video directed by Julien Phillips, takes us into a weightless exodus from space.”

Le Grand Voyage will be released on CD, LP and digitally and is available to pre-order, with all digital pre-orders receiving 'Breach' and previous singles 'Yonder' and 'Hidden Passenger' as an instant downloads:

For fans close to Paris there’s an extra special treat – on Saturday 21st September the band will be performing an exclusive acoustic set and holding a signing session at Gibert Joseph Record Store (34 bd St Michel Paris 6°- Metro Cluny-La Sorbonne) from 5pm.

In recent years, KLONE have built their name on making music that’s as deeply introspective as it is sonically powerful. Le Grand Voyage, the band’s first release for UK post-progressive specialists Kscope, is an album brimming with that sense of searching and self-discovery, its ten tracks living up to their name in unabashed, no-stone-unturned, existential exploration.

What KLONE have created is bold in sonic ambition, twisting dark guitars and electronic ambiance into a modern masterpiece that feels excitingly new, yet in many ways feels like a contemporary take on Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon.

The first single & opening track from Le Grand Voyage, 'Yonder', bridges the gap between this latest opus and 2015 studio full-length Here Comes The Sun. Mixed by Francis Castes at the Sainte Marthe studio in Paris, Bernard describes the music as a “natural and logical continuation of the song The Last Experience which concluded our previous album." Watch KLONE performing 'Yonder' live at this summer’s Hellfest here:

Having racked up a lot of interest on home soil after previous albums Here Comes The Sun and Unplugged, KLONE are now looking to focus on and extend their international operations. They’ve performed in the UK with cult grunge heroes King’s X and French metal titans Gojira, toured with Devin Townsend and landed supports for Helmet, Orphaned Land and Anneke Van Giersbergen.

KLONE are:

Yann Ligner: Vocals
Guillaume Bernard: Guitar
Aldrick Guadagnino: Guitar
Florent Marcadet: Drums
Jean Etienne Maillard: Bass
Matthieu Metzger: Sax / Samples

Canadian Hardcore/Metal act VULTURES release 'Rat King' video

Canadian Hardcore/Metal act VULTURES release 'Rat King' video

Canadian metallic hardcore outfit VULTURES have streamed their second video 'Rat King', from  their forthcoming EP Hunger, due 4th October.

The claymation 'Rat King' was premiered via Kerrang! Magazine, who said the new video is like "being mugged by Wallace and Gromit". You can now watch it here:

Created by Yatka Fedak of Clay Day, guitarist Cole Lamb comments: “'Rat King' is a much more straightforward song that puts all of its weight on the gas pedal both sonically and lyrically. In fitting with the general theme of Hunger, ‘Rat King’ tells another story about the effects of substance abuse, this time from the first person perspective of an addict who is experiencing withdrawal between fixes. There are no subtleties in this track — it’s visceral, dark and blunt.

“Visually, we went with a claymation because the idea of an animated video was very provocative to us. We won’t beat around the bush — this is a silly video, we know. We aren’t caught up in an aesthetic or a persona as a band, and at the end of the day we want to have a good time with what we are doing, which is why we didn’t think twice about it when we saw the finished product. Shout out to our homies Wallace and Gromit.”

VULTURES convey an unapologetic and visceral energy through their brand of hardcore. With sonic inspirations that include the likes of ConvergeEvery Time I Die, and The Dillinger Escape Plan, the band combine the technicality and bite of metal with the attitude of hardcore punk in order to deliver performances with unrivalled potency and aggression and no little amount of fun.

VULTURES now prepare to release their second EP Hunger, six tracks that put forth an attack of driving riffs and incendiary finger-pointing in just under twenty minutes. Hunger was produced, mixed, and mastered by Tim Creviston (Misery SignalsSpiritbox), and features Larissa Stupar (Venom Prison) on track five, 'This Hunger'.

Initially playing local DIY house shows as a means of introducing themselves in 2016, VULTURES have since proceeded to support metal heavyweights Enterprise EarthArchspire, '68 and plenty more.

In the wake of this upcoming release, the band will broaden their horizons and make waves worldwide. VULTURES will embark on their largest tour yet in support of the EP, including their first foray into the USA, and will perform shows with Despised Icon and Cancer Bats.

EXPLORING BIRDSONG sign to Long Branch Records

EXPLORING BIRDSONG sign to Long Branch Records

Exploring Birdsong -98.jpg

Rarely are new groups as exciting, talented or unique as EXPLORING BIRDSONG, the piano-led guitarless trio from Liverpool who have announced their signing to German independent label Long Branch Records.

Having recently graduated from Liverpool’s Institute of Performing Arts, the young group have already caught the eyes Prog Magazine, Kerrang! Magazine, Kerrang! Radio and Classic Rock Magazine as well as achieved two Progressive Music Awards nominations in 2019. Having only released two singles at this point, EXPLORING BIRDSONG have been hand-picked to support Sleep Token, toured with proggers Godsticks, caught the attention of Florence and the Machine, and performed at HRH Prog. Unplaceable for the most part, the band bring to mind elements of Steven Wilson, Kate Bush, Rush, Sleep Token, and Agent Fresco.

The young trio are comprised of drummer Matt Harrison, bassist and keyboardist Jonny Knight (capable of playing both instruments simultaneously), and topped by keyboardist and vocalist Lynsey Ward's stunning, otherworldly vocals.

"We are so excited to be signing with Long Branch Records. We're extremely proud to be working with a label that is home to some of our favourite bands, and feel our music couldn't be in better hands." says Exploring Birdsong drummer Matt Harrison.

Long Branch Records label manager Manuel Schönfeld adds: "Exploring Birdsong are undoubtedly one of the most interesting new bands in the British progressive music scene. We're super excited about the signing and are looking forward to a successful partnership."

Exploring Birdsong's new single "The River" will be released on October 2nd, 2019 followed by their debut EP release in Autumn 2019.

From a very early age, most of us are molded by the traditions of our upbringing. While there are undeniable benefits to tradition, often the fear of bucking against the expectations they create prevent us from pursuing our personal truth. Growing up in the deep south, the members of GIDEON spent years letting these mental fences dictate their creative direction. On their aptly titled fifth full-length album, Out of Control, the band is no longer allowing themselves to be put in a box, sonically or topically, to fit what is expected of them. Enhanced by its eclectic array of musical influences, including a heavy dose of 90s and 00s nu metal, clear inflections of outlaw country, and hip hop, Out of Control is a powerful statement of who the members of GIDEON really are and where they come from.
The members of GIDEON - Daniel McWhorter (Vocals), Tyler Riley (Guitar), Jake Smelley (Drums) and Caleb DeRusha (Bass) - have encountered a myriad of cultures while touring the world in support of their music. These opportunities led to the realisation that open-mindedness and acceptance are important aspects of developing your own perspective. As a result, they’ve grown away from their roots as a 'Christian Metalcore' band and through their last three records this transition becomes apparent. On 2014’s Calloused the band offered glimpses into their internal struggle with being a 'Christian' band. By the release of Cold in 2017, they emerged more bitter and aggressive; defiant in the face of expectations. Finally, Out of Control finds the band breaking free of all previous restraints as they craft a diverse record unlike anything they’ve ever released.

Masked rock band THE NEW DEATH CULT release new single 'Moon'

Masked rock band THE NEW DEATH CULT release new single 'Moon'

The New Death Cult 2019 Resize .jpg

New masked hard rock act THE NEW DEATH CULT have released their fourth single 'Moon', out now via Indie Recordings. The track is taken from the band's self-titled debut album The New Death Cult, which is due for release through the label on 6th September 2019.

Premiered via Dead Press, check out 'Moon' here:

A new force in rock, the masked group present themselves as otherworldly, a group arriving with fresh music and important messages for humanity. The four members ALPHA (vocals, guitar), BETA (lead guitar), GAMMA (bass), and DELTA (drums) combine with music centred around true love, peaceful activism, and an anti-war and anti-destruction ethos.

Bandleader ALPHA comments on the new single:

"'Moon' is about the power to speak up and let your voice be heard, even if you feel small. It's about the freedom to be yourself and let nobody tell you who or how to be.

The moon may seem small and insignificant compared to the Earth, but without its magnetic pull, the tides would seize and it's axis would be tilted to haywire. It's essential and overlooking the revolving Earth.

'Moon' is also about the failed war on drugs, and the way it's waged on human consciousness, having people imprisoned and impoverished over what would be considered relatively harmless recreational drug use, while the distribution of hard drugs like heroin flourish behind the scenes.

The dinosaurs are fading away. Younger generations are taking over. It's time to re-think. Time to speak up. Time to revolt. Time to howl at the 'Moon'."

A crossover between the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, and Pink Floyd, the group drive heavy rock in a new direction whilst giving a nod toward the greatest 90s rock acts. Desert rock collides with a tinge of psychedelia and cosmic grandeur, creating a scintillating new sound.

'Moon' follows THE NEW DEATH CULT's previous singles 'Light Spills Over', 'Zeitgeist' and 'True Eyes', which collectively have garnered over 200,000 streams currently, official Spotify and Deezer playlist support, and support from Dan P Carter's BBC Radio 1 Rock Show.
