22 release single and announce double album

You Are Creating released 23rd November via Long Branch Records

Following their European tour with Leprous and Agent Fresco, Norwegian progressive rock band 22 are back with new single 'Call Me Trimtab', taken from the double album You Are Creating, which will be released on 23rd November via Long Branch Records.

Watch the video for 'Call Me Trimtab' herehttps://youtu.be/D2D2AD4IkZA

Guitarist Magnus Børmark commented on 'Call Me Trimtab':
"Call me trimtab is a song about pushing oneself, working hard to create something original, to manifest visions that no one else but you have. I’ve taken the liberty to use the American pioneer, architect, futurist, inventor Buckminster Fuller’s life and concepts as a basis for the lyric. He was born in 1895, and coined concepts such as Spaceship Earth, Geodesic Domes, Dymaxion Cars and Dwelling Machines (futuristic aluminum houses); focusing, in his own very original and playful way, on humanity being radically more energy efficient as we enter the future.

"He was a big proponent of polyphasic sleeping. That means taking short 30 min naps 4 times a day instead of sleeping many hours every night. This gave him more time to work, study and create more. I myself, will also shift in to polyphasic sleeping when workin on intense projects as producing a new record or composing new music, and it works well for me, although I don’t function that well socially in those periods.

"He aimed at creating solutions and designs for mankind that would enable man to live in a more 'effortless state', and at the same time he worked his ass off making these inventions.

"A trimtab is a tiny rudder on ships and airplanes that sets the default “hands off” steering direction, reducing, when correctly dialled, the amount of force needed to keep the vehicle moving in a straight direction, to none. It is a symbol of a very light action that can create big movements. On Buckminster’s gravestone it reads 'Call Me Trimtab'."

22 have defined their own musical domain as an eclectic, melodic, energetic and stadium-appealing progressive rock outfit. You Are Creating is a conceptual album divided into two limbs, making it up to the listener to create a whole of these two parts, trusting the active participation of the listener.

You Are Creating is an assertion made by 22 that the listener is the one creating the effects of the music they are hearing. Pitch and rhythm in different arrangements (songs) are just tools provided by the artist, which the listener utilises and thus creates the experience of music.

The band claim that it is not the artist’s stories and emotions that are “given” to the listener. The listener uses music actively to explore their own emotional, mental and spiritual realms. Therefore, music is able to create experiences on such an intimate and personal level, having millions of different people from different cultures thinking: “they are singing about my life!” or “that’s exactly how I feel” in response to hearing the exact same recording of the exact song. Consciously or not, humans use music to explore their own life, world and being.

Every song on You Are Creating is made with the above-mentioned mechanism as an all-permeating creative principle.

You Are Creating is available in the following editions:

- LBR CD+T-Shirt Bundle
- LBR LP+T-Shirt Bundle
- Double Gatefold LP incl. Limb1 on mint coloured vinyl and Limb2 on purple coloured vinyl, printed innersleeves and download code

Alt-rock quartet CHAPTER AND VERSE release video for 'Ink'
Chapter and Verse Resize Credit Jennifer McCord.jpg

Alt-rock four-piece CHAPTER AND VERSE have released a video for their new single 'Ink'. A powerful and captivating listen, 'Ink' follows the band's previous singles 'A Devil In Blue' and 'Magazines'

“Ink is about feeling disillusioned with adulthood and the dangers that lie in obsessing over self-improvement,” says frontman Josh Carter“The song is unlike anything we’ve done before and we've been really embracing the evolution of what we do. CHAPTER AND VERSE has become a vessel for us to properly embrace life and for us this song serves as a reminder that focusing only on how to be happy can actually give you the opposite outcome."

Check out the video for 'Ink' here: https://youtu.be/LpGlpjcx0Ys

Purchase/stream 'Ink': https://chapterandverse.info/ink

"It’s been in our live set for a long time now," Carter continues."We’re at the stage where people at our shows are singing the words back to us without having ever heard the studio recording. It’s been a long time coming and we’re so excited to finally get it out there."

To celebrate the release of 'Ink', CHAPTER AND VERSE will play a sold-out headline show at The Black Heart in Camden, London, where they will be joined by Bellevue Days and Luke Rainsford

Full live dates:

18.10.2018 - London, The Black Heart (sold out - headline single release show)
25.10.2018 - Tunbridge Wells, The Forum (w/ Mallory Knox)

Becoming the best version of yourself can be a long and complicated road, but CHAPTER AND VERSE have been patiently taking their time. Their reputation has seen them quickly reach the dizzying heights of the 2000trees Main Stage, garner much coveted tour supports for Dream StateCourage My Love and Hellions, turn heads at the Radio 1 Rock Show and Kerrang! Radio, and even gainMetallica’s Lars Ulrich as a member of what CHAPTER AND VERSE call “The New Breed".

Having released two songs in two years, this band’s abilities are far from being fully understood. 'Magazines' is an honest reflection on the emotional aftermath of the near-loss of a friend and ‘A Devil in Blue’ is an open apology to a loved one, but it’s their new single ‘Ink' that now has everybody talking.

It is AlithiA’s first record written entirely collectively with the inspired addition of percussionist Jeffrey Raul Ortiz Castro, who interlaces the album’s sound with Latin rhythms, celestial synthesisers, and distinctive secondary vocals.

AlithiA, meaning 'truth' in Greek, was formed by singer John Rousvanis in 2004. Following the release of two experimental EP’s in The Rising (2009) and A Realm O Null (2011), AlithiA honed their sound with the ethereal debut album To the Edge of Time (2014). To the Edge of Time garnered international interest in the group, including Metal Hammer. Recently the band have embarked on a 29-date European tour with Leprous and Agent Fresco (2017; this was their fourth European tour), and 2018 saw the band tour Australia with Leprous, and The Contortionist and SikTh.

SHREZZERS release new single and video ‘E.M.O.J.I.Q.U.E.E.N’ featuring Jared Dines

Debut album to be announced soon

Shrezzers.jpg

Fast rising quintet SHREZZERS release new single and video ‘E.M.O.J.I.Q.U.E.E.N’. Featuring YouTube star Jared Dines, this is the first single taken from their soon-to-be-announced debut album.

Check out 'E.M.O.J.I.Q.U.E.E.N' here: https://youtu.be/h3tViA9H-X4

Hailing from St Petersburg, Russia and led by former Betraying The Martyrs drummer/vocalist Mark Mironov, SHREZZERS (the combination of Shredding and Brazzers) are making huge waves with their unique style of technically adept metal with pop sensibilities. Their songs and themes are based around the lifestyles of young people today in a fun and tongue-in-cheek way, and 'E.M.O.J.I.Q.U.E.E.N' is no different.

Mark Mironov explains: "‘E.M.O.J.I.Q.U.E.E.N’ tells the story of a guy who has been chasing a girl on social media for a long time and he truly believed that they have to be together. One day he decided to write to her in DM to invite her to his place and she agreed. When she arrived, the guy opened the door and he saw not the girl he fell for, but a cougar (significantly older woman). Nevertheless, they stay together and even create a common social networking profile."

Named after an infamous pornography website and the quintet's ability to play their instruments at lightening speeds, SHREZZERS have built a huge following in their homeland and online, amassing millions of views on YouTube. Previous singles Mystery(538k views), Vivacious (475k views) and Delight (208k views) have built the band’s huge fanbase which includes many notable musicians around the globe, some of whom will appear on the debut album.

European touring news and further album details will be announced very soon.
