Rising Insane announce new album and stream single / video

Rising Insane are back with their fourth studio album Wildfires, out 23rd August via Long Branch Records. The album takes an in-depth look at the consequences of our collective abstinence from empathy and challenges listeners to ignite their inner flame for change. It is an urgent call to break out of the darkness.

The band have also released their new single 'Malicious' alongside a brand new visualizer, the second track released off Wildfires following the single 'Reign'.

Stream the single and pre-order 'Wildfires' here: https://risinginsane.lnk.to/wildfires

"'Malicious' is actually quite an old song, probably even the oldest of Wildfires," comments singer Aaron Steineker. "I remember that we wrote the first version of 'Malicious' at the same time as 'Chemicals'. But there was absolutely no comparison between that song and the finished product. We first had to understand what exactly we wanted and how we could achieve it. In this process we had many lows, and ironically that's the main aspect of the lyrics: You're not satisfied with anything, nothing is good enough, you are not good enough. Everything you start is doomed to fail. Only after I added these lyrics to the song did it become 'Malicious' - without the many lows, the song would never have existed."

While Rising Insane remain true to their post-hardcore and metalcore roots on Wildfires, the band have evolved both collectively and individually, which is clearly reflected in the new and fresh sound.

Rising Insane singer Aaron Steineker comments on Wildfires"Over the last two years, I have felt that there is a huge source of strife lurking around every corner. All we have to do is pick up our cell phone and we're immediately thrown into a hate-filled sea of conflict, there's so much hate everywhere. You get the feeling that the world around us is on fire when you add war, global warming, inflation and depression to the mix. That's how this album got the title Wildfires. Each song on the album is about a specific trouble spot, themes and stories that have weighed on me while writing. Our goal is to create awareness through our music of how much we burden ourselves and each other instead of focusing on things that connect us and create positivity."

Post-metal quartet El Moono release video for new single 'The Waking Sun'

Post-metal Brightonian quartet El Moono have released a video for their new single 'The Waking Sun'. The single, which features guest vocals from Leah Stanhope of Congratulations, is the title track from their forthcoming debut album, due for release on 10th May via Lockjaw Records

Check out the video for 'The Waking Sun' here: https://youtu.be/sX4q1RoSzWA

Pre-order The Waking Sun here: https://elmoono.lnk.to/thewakingsun

The band comment: "'The Waking Sun' is the title track from the album - and it’s an ironic title. The song is a day-to-day analysis of depression, which lingers throughout every ‘waking’ moment of the day. This has been a general theme in our writing since our last record, Temple Corrupted, and we felt that the title track summarises the album as a whole. It was a pleasure to invite Leah Stanhope from Congratulations to feature on this track - her vocals add so much emotion to the song - it’s possibly the only song we’ve written in a major key. "

The Waking Sun was recorded at Middle Farm Studios with Sam Conevey, and have meticulously carved a fully immersive experience for listeners to explore. El Moono will be unveiling the album at a special session at Dolby Screening Room, London, 8th May, where the album's 360-degree spatial Dolby Atmos mix will deliver depth, clarity, and sonic details unheard of elsewhere. The band will also be giving a Q&A - and tickets will be offered to the first 50 album pre-orders. An additional session will be held on 17th May in Brighton.

RSVP on a limited first come, first serve basis: https://elmoono.lnk.to/thewakingsun

El Moono recently announced a headline tour in support of The Waking Sun.

Dates as follows:

May 31: Brighton, Hope & Ruin
Jun 01: London, Paper Dress Vintage
Jun 02: EBGBS, Liverpool
Jun 03: Legends, Edinburgh
Jun 05: Bristol, Crofters
Jun 06: Birmingham, Subside
Jun 07: Cheltenham, Frog & Fiddle
Jun 08: Exeter, The Cavern

Tickets are on sale here: bnds.us/3gxjch

The Waking Sun marks an exciting turn for El Moono toward the darker and more abrasive - a more mature release from a band already marked for greatness.

The long-awaited debut album follows El Moono's highly-regarded 2022 Temple Corrupted EP (released via Lockjaw Records). Previous tours alongside Black PeaksHaggard Cat, St Pierre Snake Invasion, and Press to MECO elevated El Moono within the new British underground, and the EP release garnered notable praise from Metal Hammer, Kerrang! and Guitar World. With influences of rock, hardcore, metal and grunge, the band's off-kilter and oftentimes mind-bending riffs, emotive songs and expressive lyricism combine to create a sound that’s difficult to pigeonhole.

LostAlone announce Shapes Of Screams 10th anniversary vinyl reissue

Hyper-melodic, epic rock trio LostAlone are celebrating the 10th anniversary of Shapes Of Screams, with a special, limited vinyl reissue. The album was originally released on 7th April 2014.

Due for release on 28th June, the Shapes Of Screams reissue is repressed on 180g heavyweight Black Ice Transparent vinyl, limited to just 250 copies. Bundles with new merch and signed art prints are also available.

Purchase the vinyl reissue and bundles here: https://www.musicglue.com/lostalone/

Check out 'The Bells! The Bells!!' from the album here: https://youtu.be/N89eh9ze3Zw

Frontman Steven Battelle comments:

"We made Shapes Of Screams under a cloud. We were falling apart, but somehow it became a unifying album that healed us. I was obsessed with the Les Miserables musical and wanted to make a heavy rock record with the choral elements of musical theatre. Some of the biggest, fan-favourite LostAlone songs are on this record and I’m very proud of it."

LostAlone surprised fans with their return in 2022, eight years since they originally split, swiftly followed by shows with My Chemical Romance and a sold-out hometown headline show. The trio concluded 2022 with a full UK headline tour, following the release of their long-awaited album The Warring Twenties.

The Warring Twenties was LostAlone's first full-length since 2014's Shapes of Screams. The album was written and produced by frontman Steven Battelle, with a variety of friends called upon to mix the songs: Greg Wells (The Greatest Showman, Deftones, Twenty One Pilots), Rou Reynolds (Enter Shikari), Adam Noble (Biffy Clyro, Placebo, Liam Gallagher) and Rich Collins.

Outside of LostAlone, Battelle has become a prolific songwriter for other artists, co-writing seven of the songs on McFly's new album Power To Play (#2 in Official Albums Chart Top 40). Following the successful collaboration, McFly invited LostAlone to tour with them last year.

2023 also saw the trio release three standalone singles, 'The Final Call For Forever', 'Waiting For The Magic To Show Up' and 'I'm A Fire That You Can't Put Out'.

LostAlone show no signs of slowing in 2024, with the release of their latest single 'All At Once' and a recent UK headline tour.

Stay tuned for more from LostAlone

Grungy rockers Marisa And The Moths release new single 'Just Like Me'

Grungy rockers Marisa And The Moths have released their new single 'Just Like Me', ahead of their second album What Doesn't Kill You, released 3rd May.

Stream: https://ffm.to/matm-justlikeme

The new track is an introspective journey into the intricate parallels within ourselves and society, enveloped in a compelling alternative rock soundscape reminiscent of Deftones and underscored by vocal prowess echoing the vulnerability and power of Jeff Buckley.

Speaking about the single, Marisa shares, “For me, this song is like a Christopher Nolan film playing in the shadows of my mind. It feels familiar yet infinite, like a stormy fractal landscape where patterns repeat endlessly. Like some kind of beautiful nightmare. It embodies a multitude of emotions and viewpoints of the human condition and our self-destructive nature, yet, whilst the general meaning is something that I feel is relatable, it’s definitely still open to interpretation.”

Penned during the Covid lockdowns whilst Marisa was personally healing from an abusive relationship, 'Just Like Me' offers a narrative of inner turmoil, delving into the depths of insecurity and anxiety when viewed from an individual perspective. However, when viewed through the broader lens of humanity, it emerges as a poignant reflection of our collective struggles. Marisa's lyrics serve as a reminder of our innate capacity for self-destruction, urging us to confront our flaws and strive towards a better future for all.

Turning heads with their alternative rock sound and powerhouse vocals, frontwoman Marisa's raw and honest lyrics make for a unique and compelling listen. The band's 2023 run of singles have offered an intimate look at her grief in overcoming an abusive relationship, and an honest insight into her battle with anxiety, depression, whilst dealing with a relapsing eating disorder, amongst other things. Burn Down Eden release new single / video inspired by the passing of Trevor Strnad

Burn Down Eden return with an uncompromising thrash assault in the form of a new EP, Dismal, which is released today via Seek and Strike. The band have also released new single / video 'The War Within'.

Watch the video for 'The War Within' here: https://youtu.be/KfWNA1mSQ_M

This song is the perfect representation of this EP’s overall sound and vibe, which is loaded with highly energetic thrash metal excellence. Burn Down Eden are ushering in a new era of German thrash with their unique, bombastic brand of metallic ferocity.

Burn Down Eden state: “Our new single, 'The War Within,' is about depression and suicide. The lyrics were inspired by the very tragic and shocking death of Trevor Strnad (The Black Dahlia Murder) back in 2022. I never experienced Trevor looking depressed when I saw them live, so him committing suicide was quite a shock to me and I realized how hard it can be to see how a human being really feels inside. I was diving deeper into this topic and watched one of his last interviews with Metal Injection before his death. There he openly discussed how he felt inside, so a lot of those described feelings you can find within this song.

"The riffs and melodies had a similar feel to our previous release
Sermonize, just more coherent and taken to the next level. We ultimately decided to break this full-length album into two EPs. The first EP, Dismal, features the more darker and intense songs, as opposed to the next EP, Epiphany, which has more of the grandiose and upbeat tracks. In the end, you’re going to have one mighty, full-length album, Dismal Epiphany.

"If you’re listening to them back to back, it feels like one thrilling rollercoaster ride. It’s a cauldron full of technical riffs, neoclassical shredding, exotic scales, clever harmonies, groovy headbangers and lethal high-speed blasts. That’s what
Burn Down Eden is all about!”

"For previous releases,
Pether (vocals) wrote lyrics just when inspiration hit him, yet this time it was different. With all the songs written at once by William and Tom (guitars) in their big summer session, there was a pile of eight empty lyric sheets to fill by Pether for Dismal and its upcoming follow up. The clock was ticking very loud, as the studio was booked and the production schedule was tight. Therefore, he started to map out every song in their parts and planned empty arrangement templates. Next step was to brainstorm the themes and allocate them to the songs. From there the songs almost wrote themselves. On Dismal, you'll find three tales of megalomania and grandeur, one dealing with a musical serial killer and a power ballad about mental health or the lack of it."

Future Palace release video for brand new single 'Uncontrolled'

German trio Future Palace have released a video for their brand new single 'Uncontrolled', out now via Arising Empire. The track is the band's first new music in almost a year.

Check out the video for 'Uncontrolled' here: https://youtu.be/3zAJ3LxMvqs

Stream 'Uncontrolled' here: https://arisingempire.com/uncontrolled

Our entire existence demands control – it seems all the more shocking when the feeling of self-control suddenly seems to disappear. In their new single, Future Palace set exactly this almost unbearable state of a slipping self to music and rely on some of the most powerful sonic contrasts that they have ever unleashed in their entire discography.

"'Uncontrolled' was created in 2022 and was written almost at the same time as the song 'Malphas', which not only has a similarly heavy musical tone as the new single, but also lyrically speaks of a struggle with oneself." The words with which singer Maria Lessing describes the experiences that gave rise to 'Uncontrolled' also sound correspondingly agitated. “The loss of control in the title primarily relates to one’s own mental health and one’s own decision-making ability”, she says. “You can no longer manage to get up in the morning and have to constantly regain your strength. You can no longer manage to meet deadlines or function at all. 'Uncontrolled' represents what it feels like when everything falls apart and seems hopeless.

'Uncontrolled' is driven by remarkably riff-focused instrumentals that would do even Slipknot credit. In their most epoch-making moments, the band glides into arrangements with immensely great vocal gestures, only to plunge into perhaps the dirtiest screams that singer Maria Lessing has ever uttered in the very next moment. The band is continuing a development that already began on their second album Run and with their last single 'Malphas'. Musically, Future Palace have now come shockingly close to the unpredictability and brutality of the dramatic themes that have always occupied them.

Last fall, the band played in several cities across Europe on their biggest headline tour to date, many of the shows were sold out. The music video for the new song, which was shot in Riga, Latvia, was again shot by Pavel Trebukhin, with whom the band has been working for a long time and who has already produced clips for big names such as Landmvrks, Imminence and Trivium.

Metallic hardcore quartet R.A.I.D release EP alongside lyric video for new single 'D.I.N.A.S.'

Metallic hardcore quartet R.A.I.D have released their new EP Dominion, alongside a lyric video for their new single 'D.I.N.A.S.'. R.A.I.D use their platform to shine a light on mental health, and more specifically the topic of suicide.

Check out the lyric video for 'D.I.N.A.S.' here: https://youtu.be/JF0bT0IbtqA

Vocalist Rueban Issac comments: "The song title 'D.I.N.A.S.' is an abbreviation for Death Is Not A Solution. The song focuses on people having suicidal thoughts. It is important to hang onto your life, because everyone has experienced pain and sorrow before in their life. That you should seek comfort in your friends and accept their hand if they are willing to reach out to you. This song can let a person know that their negative emotions are being taken seriously, and to hold onto your life."

On the EP DominionIssac elaborates: "R.A.I.D has always been a band focused on lyrically sharing a positive/motivational/uplifting message. Our new offering Dominion is musically and lyrically charged to prevent a person from ending their life. We have seen some of our close and dear friends who have gone through the worst in their life and chose death as the final solution. This has fueled us to create an EP with an intent to heal and help people in finding the right support. Dominion takes the listener on a journey of hope and recovery. From dopamine responses, to addressing depressive states, to being a vehicle for messages of hope and resilience, we believe that the songs on the EP not only raise an awareness on suicide, but also, provide a bridge to prevention."

Hyderabad, India’s newest old school hardcore/crossover thrash metal powerhouse R.A.I.D (Rueban And the Imperium Division) were founded in June 2016 by vocalist Rueban Issac

R.A.I.D draw musical influence from hardcore legends such as Madball, Suicidal Tendencies, Agnostic Front and Hatebreed. Lyrically, the quartet focus on the classic ethos of hardcore, PMA (Positive Mental Attitude). R.A.I.D strive to breathe fresh music into a generic scene, pushing both music and lyrics to their fullest potential.

R.A.I.D have released three albums to date: The Strong Survive (2018), Imperium (2019) and Defiance (2022). Over the years, their music has earned them positive reviews, and has seen them feature in Rolling Stone, Decibel, Metal Addicts, True Metal, Heavy Magazine, Metal.de, Unite Asia and The Metal Wanderlust, to name but a few.

Polish doom band Sunnata release new single 'Wishbone' with live studio session video

Feral wilderness prophets Sunnata, (sanskr. noun emptiness, voidness) have released a new single, 'Wishbone', ahead of their fifth full-length album Chasing Shadows which will be self-released on 10th May. The single is accompanied by a live session video, by Jan Gajewski, of the band performing at Soulstone Gathering in Poland

Check out ‘Wishbone (live session at Soulstone Gathering)’ here: https://youtu.be/goeIu6hL7bs

Pre-order Chasing Shadows here: https://sunnataofficial.bandcamp.com/album/chasing-shadows

Sunnata commented on the new single: "You’re doomed, adrift through life, and have no control. That’s what it’s all about.

"'Wishbone' is the first song written for what later became Chasing Shadows, our new album. Although at the first glimpse it seems to be a simple song, it has a couple of twists hidden in its meanings and technicalities. Let’s start from the fact that in contrary to a popular custom, we think that you won’t have your wish granted and the lyrical theme explores the idea of having very limited control over your life, or insignificance of made choices as the end-result.

"Secondly, when our drummer Robert created this ear-worming groove, he wanted to sneak it in to at least 2 other songs, cause he couldn’t stop playing it. Eventually it also led him to writing the crazy ass middle-eastern drums for another section of the song.

"And last but not least - it’s the first song from Chasing Shadows which we have ever performed live and we decided to drop a video from this performance for the single premiere! The song was quite fresh to us during the recording, but we are proud to reveal yet another piece of the most complex record of ours to date. Preach!"

Hailing from Warsaw, Poland, the four-piece doom metal sorcerers have been forging their own path towards the celestial realms of metal since their debut album Climbing The Colossus in 2014. Their mesmerising second album Zorya in 2016 propelled them further into the spotlight of the European alternative heavy scene, garnering increased momentum. The release of their third album Outlands in 2018 showcased a newfound depth of character, boldly venturing into the realms of progressive doom and exploring melancholic and mind-expanding avenues. Their fourth opus, Burning in Heaven, Melting on Earth in 2021, proved to be their most transcendent work yet, seamlessly blending heaviness, intensity, and tenderness into a harmonious and captivating fusion that captivated fans and critics worldwide, demanding recognition and admiration.

With Chasing ShadowsSunnata ventures into uncharted territory, pushing the boundaries of their sonic landscape to new heights. This album represents their most intricate and multifaceted work yet, delving into the extremes and nuances of their musical essence. Each track on Chasing Shadows weaves an alluring doomscape, filled with timeless and enthralling narratives. Garnering acclaim from both fans and critics alike, Sunnata has now unlocked a boundless realm of creative freedom, poised to explore limitless possibilities in their musical journey

Commenting on the album: "The fifth album for a band like ours is no joke. We are extremely proud on one hand, but also exhausted on the other as the creative process pushed us to the current limits. It’s the most complex and longest Sunnata record to date. Filled with nuances, genre blends and confident expansion of the band’s sound spectrum. Anyone familiar with our discography can easily tell that both change and experimentation are part of our nature, but at the same time - the constant need to push ourselves outside of the comfort zone, go beyond - is what stretches one's limits. Maybe this is why we liked the title so much - we are chasing the uncatchable -  shadows, illusions, visions and try to frame them with our musical language."
