Metallic hardcore newcomers ITHACA announce debut LP, stream new single

The Language of Injury to be released 1st February 2019 (Holy Roar Records)
'The Language of Injury' single out now

Metallic hardcore's finest newcomers ITHACA are excited to reveal their debut full-length record, The Language of Injury, to be released 1st February 2019 via one of heavy music's premier forward-thinking labels in Holy Roar Records.

The band have also streamed the first single from the album. Watch the video for the self-titled track here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBFcYn78C4Q

Pre-order: smarturl.it/ITHACA

Formed out of a mutual love of metallic hardcore but despair at its lack of ambition, ITHACA draw influence from everything from Southern doom to 90's math rock, as well as the untethered savagery of early Poison The Well and melodious battery of Oathbreaker.

The result is crushing grooves and shrieking guitar squalls that give way to haunting melodic passages and desolate reprieves. The debut album will be the band's most ambitious and emotionally raw material to date, following from their 2015 Trespassers EP (COF Records/Soaked in Torment).

ITHACA have previously toured with Employed to ServeVenom PrisonRenouncedand more.

THE INTERSPHERE release new single 'Antitype'

New album The Grand Delusion out November 30th

The Intersphere.jpg

German alternative rockers THE INTERSPHERE have released their new single & video for 'Antitype', taken from their forthcoming album The Grand Delusion. The band's fifth studio album - and first since 2014's Relations in the Unseen - will be released 30th November 2018 via Long Branch Records.

Watch the in-studio video for 'Antitype' here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rf5EGNImwWc

Singer and guitarist Christoph Hessler comments:

"Antitype was one of the first songs we wrote for the new album. It forms the basis for the content, from which the overall album idea The Grand Delusion developed. The song describes the social powerlessness in the capitalist system, the illusion of liberal thinking in borderless growth, the physical and emotional self-exploitation, a cynical development that has long since passed the apex of social and societal utility and, historically speaking, inevitably collapses in recurrent cycles.“

Listen to the single and pre-order the record here: https://theintersphere.lnk.to/thegranddelusion

The background for the album The Grand Delusion is the highly subjective question that is not only posed by Paul Watzlawick in his eponymous book, but that has now reached a completely new dimension in the madness of media coverage: How real is reality? The songs are not only concerned with thinking and acting in sociological and societal contexts, in systems, orders and interpretations of reality created by humans, but also with reflecting on oneself, introspection and the question “What foundation is my own reality based on?”.  Almost five years after the last release, and after personal crises and changes, The Grand Delusion is lyrically the most personal album to date from THE INTERSPHERE, but also one of the most varied, loudest and angriest.

Hessler continues: “The production aimed at recording the four main instruments live and as close up, big and detailed as possible, and thus duplication was largely avoided. We also experimented with new open tunings and countless distortion and fuzz pedals that make the sound more distorted and dirty. But there are also a couple of opulently arranged songs that enrich the sounds of The Intersphere with new colours and facets that people have never heard from us before.”

Like its predecessor, Relations in the Unseen, the album was produced by Christoph Hessler and THE INTERSPHERE, recorded live at Toolhouse Studios in Rotenburg (Germany), mixed and co-produced by Moritz Enders and mastered by Robin Schmidt. The artwork was once again created by the band's longtime associate Pierre Schmidt Dromsjel.

Returning post-rockers THE END OF THE OCEAN release new single

'"bravado"' available to listen now

The End of The Ocean.jpeg

US post-rockers THE END OF THE OCEAN are back, with '"bravado"', their new single and first release in seven years.

Watch the video for '"bravado"' here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jt6YugLWGaw

And stream: https://evr.lnk.to/bravado

The single follows the announcement made earlier this year that THE END OF THE OCEAN have signed with Equal Vision Records / Rude Records. The band have recently completed their highly-anticipated label debut with producer Mike Watts (The Dillinger Escape PlanGlassjaw), which will be released early next year, with more details to be announced soon.

This is the first new material since the band's highly praised 2011 debut, Pacific-Atlantic. With so much going on in their personal lives, Tara Mayer (keys) says that THE END OF THE OCEAN needed to “give ourselves a chance to hurt so that we could have the chance to heal” before even thinking about another release. The past few years have forced the band to come to terms with their own humanity and mortality, as well as that of their bandmates and friends. Now finally in a place to focus on new music, THE END OF THE OCEAN are back and stronger than ever.

Their new music balances rich, thoughtful melodic passages, high-energy riff-wielding and truly epic climatic outpourings. Championed for their maelstrom of nostalgia, hope, beauty, melancholy, chaos and tranquility, THE END OF THE OCEAN are bigger, bolder and ready to return.

Recorded in Athens, Greece, The Moon has Fallen delves deep into the realm of psychedelic tribal post-prog rock. It is AlithiA’s first record written entirely collectively with the inspired addition of percussionist Jeffrey Raul Ortiz Castro, who interlaces the album’s sound with Latin rhythms, celestial synthesisers, and distinctive secondary vocals.

AlithiA, meaning 'truth' in Greek, was formed by singer John Rousvanis in 2004. Following the release of two experimental EP’s in The Rising (2009) and A Realm O Null (2011), AlithiA honed their sound with the ethereal debut album To the Edge of Time (2014). To the Edge of Time garnered international interest in the group, including Metal Hammer. Recently the band have embarked on a 29-date European tour with Leprous and Agent Fresco (2017; this was their fourth European tour), and 2018 saw the band tour Australia with Leprous, and The Contortionist and SikTh.
